The Encore Reel
Any gallery on Professional+ can render a 9:16 vertical highlight reel in one tap. ~60 seconds, your studio's aesthetic, ready for the client to post on Instagram, TikTok, or wherever the reach is.
How to render one
Open the Reel tab on a gallery and click Generate. The render runs server-side and usually finishes in 30 seconds to 2 minutes for a 100-photo gallery. The tab shows a progress block — Queued → Rendering → Ready — so you can leave the tab and come back when it's done.
Picking which photos go in (star them)
In the Frames tab, every photo tile has a star button in the top-left corner. Star up to 30 photos to pick the exact cut. Numbers (1–30) show on each starred photo so you can see the order at a glance. The Reel tab's helper line confirms: *"Using your 12 starred photos in pick order."*
If you don't star anything, the reel falls back to the first 30 photos in the gallery's current sort order (Newest, Oldest, Random, or Manual — whatever you've picked in Layout). The helper line spells out which fallback will run before you hit Generate.
The cover photo, if you've set one, always hoists to the front so the reel opens on your hero frame.
What it's made of
Each picked photo gets a slow Ken Burns motion across the frame, soft-blurred edges (so vertical photos don't letterbox awkwardly into 9:16), and stitched into one h264 MP4. If you've uploaded a soundtrack to the gallery, Encore mixes it in and fades it out at the end. No soundtrack = silent reel.
After it's ready
The Reel tab shows the rendered MP4 inline with:
- Download MP4 for the file
- Copy link for the shareable URL
- Re-render if you want a different cut after re-starring photos
Starred photos clear automatically after a successful render so the next reel starts from a clean slate. If a render fails, the stars come back — retry without re-picking.
If the render fails
Hit Generate again from the Reel tab. Persistent failures usually mean a corrupt original photo somewhere in the starred set. The error message names the failing frame so you can swap it.
