Vendor galleries

The caterer wants four photographs of the table settings. The florist wants the bouquet. Neither of them needs six hundred frames of somebody's wedding, and the couple would probably rather they didn't have them.

A vendor gallery is a named subset of a gallery with its own link.

Creating one

Open a gallery, go to the Vendors tab, and create a share. Give it a name - the vendor's business is the obvious one - pick the frames that belong to it, and Encore gives you a link to send. You can also set their role, an email, a credit line for how they should attribute you, and whether downloads are allowed at all: a share can be view-only if the photographs are for approval rather than for use.

You can create as many as the job needs. A wedding usually wants three or four; a brand shoot might want one per deliverable.

What the vendor sees

Their link opens the gallery with only their frames in it, wearing your branding as usual. They see exactly what you selected and nothing else - and download it only if you allowed downloads on that share. There is no way to walk from a vendor link back to the full gallery.

The main gallery is the source of truth

This is the part worth understanding, because it is what makes vendor links safe to hand out.

A vendor link is never more permissive than the gallery it came from. If the main gallery is vaulted, archived, or taken down, every vendor link goes dark with it. There is no state in which a vendor can still reach photographs the client can't.

That includes delivery order. A gallery that is still a draft, or scheduled to publish next Tuesday, does not leak through a vendor link early - the couple sees the photographs first, always. A vendor link created today on a gallery publishing Friday simply does not open until Friday.

Expiring and revoking

Each share can be given an expiry date, and any share can be revoked outright. Revoking is immediate and does not touch the main gallery or any other vendor's link.
