Comments and re-edit requests

Two ways a client speaks inside a gallery, and they are different things. A comment is a note on a frame. A re-edit request is a job: fix this one, and here is what I mean.

Comments

Any visitor who has given a name and email can open a frame and leave a comment, up to 2,000 characters. If the gallery asks for name and email before it opens, everyone can comment; if it only shows the dismissible prompt, a visitor who skipped it is asked to fill it in the first time they try. Comments are visible to everyone who can open the gallery, so treat them as the client conversation they are, not as private notes.

You get an email for every comment. It goes to the studio's owners, with the roll ID in the subject line and a link to the gallery. To read the thread, open the frame in the gallery; comments also show in the activity stream on your dashboard.

A gallery that has gone dark accepts no comments: trashed, taken down, expired, or on a suspended account.

Re-edit requests

From any frame, Re-edit (the R key) lets a client ask for a fix on that frame, with a note saying what to change: brighter overall, warmer skin, a tighter crop. Below the note they can pick other frames from the ones they are browsing as reference frames, "edit it like these", up to 50 of them.

Requests land in the gallery's Re-edits tab in your dashboard, newest first, each with its frame, its references marked REF, and the client's note. The email you get says how many of each came with it.

Re-edit requests are on for every gallery unless you switch them off. The switch is Re-edit requests in the gallery's settings panel, under Visitor experience; off hides the button and the R key and refuses new requests, while anything already filed stays in your list to work. Work them through Start and Mark delivered, or Decline one. Every request counts on the gallery's analytics page.

Both are on every plan.
