Sub-studios

Some businesses are two names. The wedding studio and the sports side. The agency and the photographer's own name. A sub-studio is a second studio under your account: its own address, its own roll IDs, its own galleries, its own logo and colours, and its own receipts chain, without a second login, a second subscription or a second storage cap.

What a sub-studio has of its own

  • An address. Every sub-studio is live at its own encore.photo address the moment it is created, chosen from its name.
  • Roll IDs. Its prefix is your prefix followed by its own: if you are HR and the sub-studio is JDP, its frames are numbered HR-JDP-0001 onwards. The prefix is stored, not recomputed, so an ID already printed on a licence or a lab ticket never changes.
  • Galleries, brand and receipts. Its own galleries, its own logo and colours, and its own tamper-evident chain of views and downloads.

You see the exact address and the first roll ID before you commit. A prefix that does not fit alongside yours is refused, never silently shortened.

What it shares

  • One login. Everyone on your studio at the moment a sub-studio is created is added to it with the same role, and you switch between studios from the sidebar. After that, membership is per studio: adding someone to the parent later does not add them to a child.
  • One plan. A sub-studio has no plan of its own. Whatever your plan includes works inside it, and billing is managed from the parent.
  • One storage pool. Uploads to either name spend from the same cap, and the cap is enforced once for the family.
  • One payout account. Licence sales from a sub-studio's galleries settle to the same connected Stripe account as the parent.

Limits

Sub-studios go one level deep: a sub-studio cannot have sub-studios. Only an owner can add one. You always land in your main studio by default and enter a sub-studio when you choose it.

Team seats are counted per studio. A sub-studio cannot yet be renamed or removed from the settings; write to support if you need one taken down.

Plans

Creating sub-studios is part of Studio Plus, up to five per account. If you later move to a lower plan, the sub-studios you have keep working exactly as they are; you can add more again when you return to Studio Plus.
